Take kitchen fun to your kids! Enjoy a fresh, one-of-a-kind VBS 2011 at Cokesbury’s Shake It Up Café – where kids carry out God’s recipe.

In this kid-friendly café full of chef’s hats and aprons, pots and pans, checkered tablecloths, and chalkboard menus, kids explore the Bible as a cookbook filled with recipes for living out God’s word. Through interactive lessons, that are easy for kids to apply to their lives today, boys and girls will celebrate biblical festivals that reveal ingredients for being a follower of God.

Arms Around Arkadelphia

Mission work is one of the main things people think of when they want to serve God’s people! At Arms Around Arkadelphia, you can do mission work in your own backyard! Hosted by First Baptist Church, Arms Around Arkadelphia reminds the community that people don’t only struggle in third world countries, but in our own town! We go to the people in our community and do things such as flooring, painting, scrapping, lawn work, wheelchair ramps, and more! This is a great opportunity to get out and help!

Mission Tanako

If you’re thinking about getting into some mission work, but you want to try it before you commit a full week, Mission TANAKO is just for you! For two days during Spring Break we will head up to Camp TANAKO to renovate the Wilson Center! If you have never been to Tanako, this is the perfect time for you to go check it out! You’ll get to taste the great food, meet the friendly staff, and make friends that will last forever! Not to mention getting closer to your youth group! Some of the tasks might include, Painting, diggging, building, and more! After working at Tanako we will take some time and go to the mall to hang out and get to do some fun activities! These are two days that you don’t want to miss!

Synago

Synago (syn-AH-go) is the Greek word for “come together.” You may recognize it as the root word of synagogue, a place were people come together to worship and to learn the faith. And so it is with these small groups. Youth come seeking God, wanting to learn. Synago can also be translated “to take in.” One of the purposes of these student-led small groups is to reach out and invite in youth who have not been a part of a church, youth who do not have a relationship with God through Jesus Christ, youth who are seeking or perhaps struggling with faith. Friends invite friends, and the group takes them in with love. Synago is also the root word of synergy, where the coming together of individual parts makes something even greater. And so it is in these small groups. In coming together to talk about their lives in light of God’s good news, the group members find that something great happens. Groups start on September 19th.

The purposes of our Synago group are to

Grow closer in our relationships with God and Jesus Christ;
Grow closer in our relationships with one another;
Learn more about the Christian faith and God’s Word;
Encourage honesty and sharing in an atmosphere of trust, confidentiality, and open-mindedness;
Support one another and care for one another in Christian love;
Grow in number by inviting others;
“Multiply” into two groups when we reach 10 regular members to encourage intimacy and continued growth.

Hullabaloo for Jesus

If you know anything about me, then you know how important worship is to me, I truly only trust a few people in leading worship with me in the things I do. On September 12 in connection with our Rally Day the youth will have a kick off worship service with the LEYDEN at 6:00 in the Fellowship Hall. We are making some changes in youth ministry this year and it all starts on this date. More than anything, this ministry is about worship centered on the glory of God, who He is and what He has done, and teaching based on the word of God. We would love to struggle through life with you. If you are looking for an honest community of worshipers willing to wrestle with the difficult but life changing words of Jesus Christ, Come and see what we are about!

Razorback Game

Come on all you Hog Fans…it’s time to go to work. September 11, 2010 will be our first of two games to work the concession stand at War Memorial Stadium. The game starts at 6pm which means the gates open at 4, which means we have to be there at 2 pm so we will leave the church at 12:30 pm, please eat lunch before you come so we can get there and get busy. We will have to eat dinner at WMS, so bring a little extra cash. We also need at least 4 adults to come besides me, two to handle money and two to help youth at the counters. ==YOUTH== text me if you are going, ==PARENTS== Just email me if you can go.

Cookout

We are having a youth/parent cookout on August 22 at DeGray lake starting at 4:00 pm and will talk about the upcoming school year, new programs, concerns, and vision. Please make sure you are there so we can plan this together. Youth can swim, ski, and tube while the adults eat and visit. This is a great time for you to brings friends that aren’t plugged into a church, so they can see what we will be doing this year.
